Settings → Privacy & Lock controls authentication when opening the app and whether new viewing activity is recorded. App locking, preventing bookmark deletion, and private browsing in a web browser serve different purposes.
How do I enable app locking?
- Set an app passcode in Passcode Setting.
- Enable Lock on Launch. If no passcode is set, its setup screen opens.
- Enable biometric unlocking if supported by the device.
- Choose an Auto Lock delay for returning from the background.
The app passcode and backup password are separate. The available biometric method depends on the device.
Can I choose the auto-lock delay?
Choose immediately, after 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, or 1 hour. Choose a delay appropriate for how you use and share your device.
Disabling Lock on Launch removes authentication when opening the app. The change may require confirmation and authentication.
What does Private Mode stop recording?
While enabled, LinkOrganizer does not add new view counts, last-viewed timestamps, or viewing history when you open links.
Existing records are not automatically erased. This does not stop the network request needed to open a page, the website’s own records, or an external browser’s history. It does not automatically enable Safari’s private browsing mode.
How do I clear existing viewing records?
Use the history-deletion action in Settings → Data, Sync & Support, or the history action in a link’s menu. Check the affected items before confirming. Deletion cannot be undone.
Shortening the recently viewed period, hiding view counts, and enabling Private Mode are different from explicitly deleting existing records.
Do search exclusions or bookmark locks make content secret?
Search exclusions control whether links appear in results. Bookmark and folder locks prevent deletion; they are not the same as app authentication or per-item encryption.
Use Lock on Launch to protect access to the app, and profiles or exclusions to organize what is shown. Those settings do not eliminate website traffic or browser-side records.
Where are saved links sent?
Links, folders, and notes are managed on the device. If you enable iCloud sync, they synchronize through your own iCloud storage. Fetching titles, images, and icons, or opening a link, connects to the respective website.
Purchases, restoration, and subscription checks use Apple and RevenueCat. LinkOrganizer does not send saved bookmarks or notes to RevenueCat. See the Privacy Policy for purchase-data handling and contact details.
What if I forget my passcode or backup password?
If biometric unlocking was configured and is available, first check whether you can open the app that way. If you cannot unlock it, contact support with the state shown and the app version. Do not send the passcode itself.
Restoring a backup requires the password used when creating it. The developer cannot look up that password for you. Do not delete the app without checking your backups, as doing so may lose data.
